Any writing done with the intent of healing. This can be anything from a personal narrative or journal entry to a fictional story. We ask that survivors use writing to express their emotions attached to their trauma, and we ask for submissions that reflect this.
-
No! SeePTSD does not issue a submissions fee.
-
No! The purpose of compiling our stories of trauma into a publication is to inspire both the writer and others to use art and writing as a healthy coping mechanism. We hope that is a reword in itself.
-
Yes! If work has been accepted elsewhere before we have gotten back to you, please send an email to seeptsd@gmail.com promptly to let us know and pull your piece from the submissions pool.
If work has been previously published, we ask that you gain permission from that publisher to be featured in SeePTSD.
-
Our mission is to empower trauma survivors to share their stories and find closure in their traumatic incidents. We strive to publish the majority of submissions under our Poetry, Prose or Art pages, but exceptional work may be featured in our quarterly issues.
Our editors strive to choose pieces that best represent our mission to be featured in our issues. We select based on the quality of the art or writing, but we want our submitters to know that this is merely a reflection of the best representation of SeePTSD, not the quality of your story.
However, SeePTSD has the power to deny submissions publication to our website/issues if they do not align with our values.
