Literary Magazine Submissions
We are looking for pieces of writing by trauma survivors, and this is quite open-ended. Pieces can specifically detail trauma or cover any other topic as long as the writing was done with the intent to promote internal healing.
Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis.
We request first North American publishing rights and archival rights for accepted works. All rights revert back to the author/artist upon publication. We have the right to edit pieces in grammar, spelling, format, and other minor changes to make it publishable. SeePTSD has the right to issue trigger warnings for pieces and edit/sensor excessively vulgar language.
Submissions that have been previously accepted elsewhere may be submitted to SeePTSD with permission from the previous publisher.
With every submission, we ask the author/artist to include a short blurb about what happened to them that resulted in long-term trauma. This blurb can be as detailed or vague as the submitter is comfortable. We also ask for an optional third-person bio.
Submissions cannot be anonymous, but submitters have the option to only have their first name and last initial available on the publication.
Art Submissions
Art submissions can be in any medium from digital art and photography to paintings or sculptures.
For art not done in a digital medium, we ask that the submitter takes a clear photo of their work under good lighting.
Artists may submit 3 pieces per submission cycle.
